The GW Office of Integrative Medicine and Health is a proud educational partner of this year’s International Conference on Nutrition in Medicine, which is jointly provided by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Join health care professionals from around the globe on July 15-17, 2021 for this impactful conference. Physicians, dietitians, nurses, pharmacists, and health coaches can earn 20 continuing education credits for attending. They also hear the latest nutrition research and gain practical tips on how to incorporate nutrition into patient care.

This is the Physicians Committee’s ninth annual conference and their second time bringing the conference online after a widely successful program last year with close to 1,000 attendees. What’s unique about this conference is lectures are available both live and on-demand, so if you miss anything you have time after the conference to watch the lecture at your leisure. If you watch live, you’ll have the chance to engage in Q&A with speakers.

Registration is now open at www.PCRM.org/ICNM! Register as soon as you can to take advantage of discounted pricing!

Speakers and topics:

  • 30 leading nutrition experts will present over the three days!
  • Neal Barnard, MD, PCRM founder and President will speak on nutrition and menopause.
  • You’ll hear a powerful success story from Dr. Saray Stancic on overcoming MS with a plant-based diet.
  • Presentations on the nutrition essentials for weight control, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease with Dr. Shireen Kassam, Dr. Caroline Trapp, and dietitians Lily Correa and Susan Levin.
  • Dr. Eboni Price-Haywood will present key findings from a landmark publication covering the disproportionate share of COVID-19 disease burden in African Americans.

The culinary medicine presentations will cover maximizing the healthfulness of cuisines from around the world. You won’t want to miss a dynamic presentation from chef Bryant Terry and cardiologist Columbus Batiste, MD, on the shift from soul food to resilience. And of course, a very powerful session from our guest today Evelisse Capó, PharmD, on Nutrition and Health in Latin American Communities. Dr. Capó will be offering the audience a practical cooking demonstration on traditional Latin American foods.
