Tap Into Your Senses is a half-day event for health care professionals, students, and the public. The event will feature three consecutive sessions: aromatherapy, nutrition, and spices and herbs. Each session will feature an expert in the field discussing the basic principles of their topic, the science behind it, how it can address common conditions (chronic pain, sleep challenges, inflammation, for example), and practical, low-cost examples for home use. This event is organized by the GW Office of Integrative Medicine and Health and Access Integrative Medicine Health Institute

The speakers inlcude Nancy Abolmouna, ND, MS. CNS, American University; Claudia Joy Wingo, MPH, RN, MNHAA, Maryland University of Integrative Health; and Ed Dailey, RN, RYT, Young Living.

During Tap Into Your Senses, attendees will learn tools that can be integrated into their everyday lives at minimal cost. This is particularly true in contrast to the cost of conventional pharmaceuticals, visits to allopathic primary care physicians and specialists, and especially integrative medicine practitioners whose work is typically not covered by insurance. Our hope is that not only will aromatherapy, nutritional principles, and use of spices and herbs be easily integrated into an attendee’s everyday life, but also build an attendee’s self-efficacy in health management. After each presentation, attendees will have an opportuity to interact with the speakers.

Lunch is included in the registration fee: Early Bird, $40, General Public $50, Students $25. No one will be denied registration due to lack of funds. Please contact Ankita Jain at ankitajain@gwcim.com for details.
